I looked out the window and what did I see?

Friday morning we were greeted with a bunch of white fluffy stuff. This was only the first 12 inches. It snowed four or five more inches after Steve cleared this off the driveway. Oh, and yes, those are our children playing in the snow at 7:00 a.m. Needless to say school was canceled.

Trouble with a capital T

Andrew T. (?) Scrogham. He's been pretty easy to find the last few days. We just have to follow the toilet paper trail.

An Ordinary Lump of Laundry?

Today, Sammi and I played Hide and Seek. She's pretty good. See for yourself. If this looks like an ordinary lump of laundry to you, take another look.

Handsome Little Man

The other day, I gave Andrew a haircut. I chased him all over the bathroom taking a little snip here and a little snip there. After about twenty minutes, I called it good. If I would have thought things out a little better, I would have taken a before picture. But, here is the after. Yes, his bib has pink on it. But, it's a bib. Besides, he doesn't care.

After Thanksgiving

We were very blessed to be honorary Rappaports for Thanksgiving. Our dear friends in Milwaukee, with whom we have had Thanksgiving before, have a brother not far from where we live now. As luck would have it, it was his turn to host the family Thanksgiving dinner. So, after a very gracious invitation we drove all of 20 minutes to join them for the feast. It was wonderful. The kids loved being doted over. Steve and I loved being a part of a large family for the special day. After dinner and much visiting, we drove downtown as we have in years past. We decided it was time to revive our post-Thanksgiving Chicago tradition. That's right, no Black Friday shopping for us. Of course I like getting a good deal, but I'm not suicidal. So, we spent a couple of nights there and were busy to say the least- Field Museum, Santa, Macy's, the Tree in the Walnut room, traditional deep dish pizza, and American Girl.

The Repeat Offender

Now that Andrew is extremely mobile, he is what Steve refers to as a "one-man-wrecking-crew." That says it all. This day I was putting the dishes away. Before I could relish in my pride of a task completed without interruption, I noticed it was quiet. Don't get me wrong, it is a sound I quite enjoy, music to my ears really. But, after having three kids I know better. I know that silence and random "Mommy, I love you's" mean trouble. So recognizing this silent alarm, I searched for Andrew. There he was in the dirt. He was so proud of the damage that he had done. Behind the chunks of potting soil was the cutest grin. I had a very hard time hiding my laughter at the event and tried desperately to reprimand the little destroyer. After a bath, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping everything was as good as new, for a few hours anyway............
